Area school districts receive FAST ratings

The' ( omal and New Brauntc'ls school districts received dttterent rc‘port c ards from the state c:om[)-troller’s otfice, which rek'ased their Financial Alloc ation Study ot Texas (FAST) results on Thursday.
Using various Texas Education Agency data and accountability ratings over the past three yc‘ars, FAST measures how spending in
every Texas public school distric t and cam[)us translates to student academic progress. Tlie comf)trol-ler's oftice said the study also idc'n-tifies and shares cost-etiective practices that could benefit cam-f)uses and ciistric ts across the state*.
Each district and campus was assigned a FAST rating of onc' to five stars, indicating its success in combining cost-eftective spending with theachievemc'nt of meas-
ural>le student ac aclemic progress. Eive stars reflect the strongest rc'l-ative progress cc)ml)ined w ith thc> lowest relative spending.
