Rangers playing for district title
use the remaining games to prepare for the state playoffs.
Smithson Valley has the biggest challenge ahead. The Rangers have clinched a playoff berth, but they still want to win the District 27-5A title and finish district play with an undefeated record.
After starting the season slowly, the Rangers came together when district play
started and have not lost since.
The Rangers will host Brackenridge tonight and visit East Central Friday before facing their biggest district challenge at Southwest Tuesday. The Rangers defeated Southwest at home earlier this month in a five-game epic match, winning the fifth game 16-14.
The Rangers lead Southwest by two games with three to play and can win the district without winning Friday, but head coach Bryan Funk and his team have said they want to go undefeated in district play.

Engel, Sheetrock want to win state
“We have been playing a lot better," Shedrock said. “We want to win state. From the beginning of the year to now, we’ve improved a lot. We’re playing a lot more consistently”
Engel said the Cougarettes have a chance to win primarily because every team member has wants to excel.
“It’s real exciting,” Engel said. “It s the last time we’ll be going into the playoffs. I remember when we were sophomores and the seniors went to state. They wanted it, but we want it more."
Engel and Shedrock also know that their time together is also coming to an end. Engel has verbally committed to playing at North Texas University while Shedrock is considering several schools.
"It will be weird without Tiffany because she’s been my setter every year except for my sophomore season," Engel said.

with a 30-yard touchdown run by Chase Wilke and a 53-yard touchdown pass from Shah to Kyle Peace. Caleb Moeller intercepted a Lake TYavis pass at the Canyon 5-yard line in the fourth quarter to help seal the victory.
The Canyon freshman "White" team lost to Lake TYavis 14-13. Drew Holloman threw two touchdown passes, both to Ryan Cooper, for the Cougars.
