found? Does God even care anymore? Hey, did he really write all those 66 books down for us, or were we just duped? Why, I will bet he is having a good laugh at us for thinking we could know what he said. No, he has declared we should know (2 Timothy 2:15). There is a verse which says: “Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:7)
Most applications made of this verse denounce some sin of the flesh; but in context, it is about what Christian people do with their personal resources: money, influence, time, talent (see verses six through IO). So, bought any corrupt Bibles lately? Has the money you have given gone to serve the Lord or man? Have you recommended an incorrect doctrine? Are you “feathering your own nest” instead of walking charitable? Out of a 168-hour week, how much of your time is spent in the Lord’s will, with the Lord’s people in fellowship, or studying his word?
It is obvious to me as well as to many whose aim it is to serve our savior, that most people never give these things a thought. Even
us should give account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12) Add the constant principle that we have been “bought with a price” (the blood of Jesus shed for our sins) and given the “gift of God...” (salvation, Romans 6:23) and we are his (“And ye are Christ’s; and Christ is God’s — I Corinthians 3:23),. how about let us consider upon what we shall, spend our considerable time, talent, resources, etc. Let us go back to the word of God to see what is our end.
When judgment is made, the Lord Jesus Christ will make it according to his holy word. It will not be out of the literature books; it will not be the reading of the minutes of the last IO committee meetings we attended; nor will it be by which “name” our church had on it. It will be whether we received salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ and then a judgment according to the deeds done in the flesh (for saved people). Will you consider: I) how much you know about what God has said; and 3) are you wisely (in his wisdom) spending your time?
(Jerry Lockhart is pastor of the Berean Bible Church.)
many preachers believe they have done a week’s work if they “administrate” for five days and preach once on Sunday. How pathetic that we preachers have become so self-serving and smug that we think our life should center on one hour on Sunday morning. One preacher once told me, “You don’t know how many committee meetings I have to attend. My response is, “Have to?” Men of God in your Bible had no such meetings,mo such organizations, no such time-wasters. Of course, those Bible guys were not “schooled” in the best of seminars, so are today’s seminaries better than personal inspiration? Should we really believe we are correct and they are wrong? I do not think so. Our names may be in the Lamb’s Book of Life, but you will not find us being examples in Scripture, like Paul was, for instance (Yes, I am aware that he was a seminarian, but he counted all that stuff “loss” — Philippians 3:4-10).
At our Academy of Bible Doctrine classes (local classes where people want to study together), we have just finished a section about responsibility which has taught us that “every one of

At the site of the new altar, ground was turned over by the bishop; the Rev. John Banders, rector of St. Francis; the wardens; and Baker Duncan, chairman of the architectural committee. Music was provided by the church choir accompanied by Mrs. Ricky Themeau on keyboard and David Reeves on drums.
