NBHS sophomore decorates Blue Santa tree
New Braunfels High School sophomore golf player Ashley Minton decorated the Blue Santa gift tree at Sundance Golf Course and practice range on East Common Street.
Blue Santa is the program operated by the New Braunfels Police Department and Citizens Police Academy Alumni to provide holiday gifts for Ute community’s underprivileged children.
“I thought it was a good thing to do,” Minton said. “I think everyone should get involved with this.”
Organizer Cissy lankowski said die program would provide two toy and two clothing gifts for about 400 children in IOO local families.
Police officers and alumni will deliver the gifts on Christmas Eve.
The Blue Santa program needs cash donations to buy gifts. Mail checks to Blue Santa, clo the New Braunfels Police Department, 1488 S. Seguin Ave., New Braunfels 78130.
Another way to help is by picking up a Blue Santa card from a tree at Sundance, Wal-Mart, Famous Footwear or Ross Dress For Less, buying the gift listed on it and turning it in at a Blue Santa drop box.
