REPUBLICAN WOMEN’S FRIED PICKLES
“People ask us what secret spices we use for this recipe,” said Republican Women volunteer Vickie VanDelden. “The recipe is really very simple. You just have to be sure to shake off the excess flour so only a thin coating remains”
Thin-sliced hamburger <HH pickles Regular flour Peanut oil for frying
Drain pickles thoroughly. Dip in flour. Shake thoroughly to remove excess flour. Fry in deep peanut oil for a minute or two on high heat. Dip in ranch dressing.

REPUBLICAN WOMEN’S SAUSAGE BALLS
Simplicity also is the beauty of this Republican Women’s favorite. Bucky Smith, who leads the annual sausage-ball-making parties at Naeglin’s Bakery, shared the recipe.
“Be sure to use the spicy sausage,” she said. The Republican Women use Velveeta cheese for the sausage balls in die Wurstfest booth so the balk will hold together on skewers, but cheddar works fine if die balls are not to be skewered, Smith said.
