Schott to attend Saint
Marys Hall for high school
New Braunfels Middle School eighth-grader Travis Schott is headed to San Antonio’s Saint Mary’s Hall for high school on a full tuition scholarship.
Schott was one of four middle schoolers to receive the Campbell Scholarship. He competed with more than 130 eighth graders during the four month selection process.
To be considered for the award, Schott had to score in the 90th percentile on four sub scores of the Independent School Entrance Exam, hold a minimum 3.2 grade point average and provide examples of community and leadership service.
The students also were required to submit recommendations from three of their teachers, write an essay and interview with a panel of four independent judges.
The scholarship named for Ruth Taylor Campbell, Saint Mary’s Hall former trustee and alumna, was first awarded to students in 1989. To date, more than $2.8 million has been awarded to cover partial or full upper school tuition costs for 140 students.
