Peter and Paul School, an impressive donation in the I amount of $500. The Women’s Center will use this money to handle ; the general operating costs of running a shelter, to purchase supplies for an active Children’s Program and to assist families who are leaving the shelter to establish a new household, free from the violence in their past. ’ Clearly, this donation will benefit many of our clients, but what is truly • Extraordinary is that in raising these funds, the Saints Peter and Paul • students have already given to otliers , in their community. Here is how they • did it: The children at Sts. Peter and Paul • decided that instead of “giving up’’ . something for Lent, they might make a larger and more significant by “giving to” others. They committed themselves to doing good deeds for „ others during the Lenten period. Each • time a student helped another, by Cleaning a classroom for a teacher or C by holding the door for an elderly ! person, a piece of purple construction paper was linked and added to the Itudent body’s “chain of good r tleeds.” This chain eventually consisted of 1,822 links, which is 2,822 acts of kindness.
