Friger elected treasurer of Guadalupe Valley District FFA New Braunfels High School freshman Devin Felger has been elected as the 2005-06 treasurer for the Guadalupe Valley District FFA. Felger currently serves as the historian for the New Braunfels chapter. “I was very excited,” she said. “This organization is great because it’s all based on agriculture and leadership." Felger has participated in FFA since third grade. For the last two years, she has participated in career development events — land and horse judging—and leadership development events — creed speaking, quiz team and parliamentary procedure. She also has shown hogs, cattle, sheep and goats at the Comal County Youth Show, Comal County Fair and other Texas stock shows. Although she expects her new role to be challenging, I elger said she hoped it would be good practice for a future position in the state-level FFA organization. After graduation, Felger plans to attend Texas A&M University where she will study to become a large animal veteri narian. — Leigh Jones Car shopping? Get great deals on new and used vehicles.
