Jim’s V ideo Concrete barriers on Loop being stored for 1-35 project By CRAIG HAMMETT Staff Writer Residents may have noticed those concrete barriers stationed along Loop 337 just north of the Landa St. turnoff and south of the Hwy. 46 intersection. Texas Department of Transportation officials say no construction is planned on the Loop there. The barriers are only being stored in the area for future use. TxDOT Engineer David Kopp said the barriers came from construction being completed on Interstate 35 north of New Braunfels, commonly referred to as “the tunnel.” The department needed to store the barriers in a location near 1-35 because construction will begin soon on widening 1-35 south of town.
