The total cost of this project ie estimated at $1,790,000. After meeting with citizens in town meetings and consulting with groups and individuals. LCRA proposes a preferred transmission line route and nine alternative routes. Each route is made up of several line segments or links." In each casa, th# lins will begin at the existing Sheriffs Posse Substation located on the east side of Interstate Highway 35 at the Comal County Sheriffs Posse Arena, south of New Braunfels, and will end al th# existing Schumansville Substation, locatad on West Zipp Road. The LCRA has divided potential routes for this project into nineteen separate links. The preferred and alternative routes ar* mad# up of different combinations of these links. The links are located as follows: DESCRIPTIONS OF THE LINE UNKS LINK A • This link originates at the existing Sheriffs Posse Substation, locatad on th# east side of Interstate Highway (IH) 35 at the Comal County Sheriffs Posse Arena, south of New Braunfels. The link exits the existing substation on a northeast heading and consists of rebuilding an existing transmission line for approximately 1,400 feet. LINK B - This link is a continuation of Link A and also consists of rebuilding a portion of lh# existing line for another 1,250 feet to the northeast. LINK C - This link exits the existing transmission line ROW at the point that separates links A and B end heads in a southeast direction, crossing Morningside Drive. The link continues approximately 400 feet south of. and parallel to. Santa Clara Rd. Immediately after crossing the county line into Guadalupe County, the link crosses to the north side of Santa Clara Rd. and parallels the road ROW to its intersection with Green Valley Rd. At this point Link C turns east and parallels the south side of Green Valley Rd. for approximately 1,700 feet. The link then turns southeast again and runs parallel lo property lines tor approximately 3,500 feet, turns northeast, and terminates just west of FM 1044. LINK D • This link originates on the existing transmission line ROW (at the end of Link B), runs southeast for approximately 1.200 feet and terminates on the north side of Morningside Drive, approximately 850 feet east of its intersection with Santa Clara Rd. LINK E • This link continues along the existing transmission line ROW (which will be rebuilt) from die end of Link B tor approximately 4,750 feet, pest the point where the existing line turns northwest end heade into New Braunfels, and continues on tor approximately 2.000 feet to FM 1044. At this point the link turns OO lo the southeast and parallels FM 1044 tor approximately 2,750 feet to a point along a private road on the east side of the highway. LINK F • This link begins on the north side of Morningside Drive approximately 850 feet east of its intersection with Santa Clara Drive and runs generally southeast for approximately 8,350 feet to a point west of FM 1044, behind the New Clear Subdivision. LINK F • This link is an extension of Link F and runs in the same direction (southeast) for approximately 1,650 feet before ending at a fencelme west of FM 1044. LINK G - This link begins on the north side of Morningside Drive, approximately 850 east feet of its intersection with Santa Clara Drive, and heads nor die ast paralleling property lines. Th* link then turns first southeast, ten northeast, going around the Crown Ridge Subdivision, and ends on the east side of FM 1044. LINK H • This link is a short segment (550 feet) paralleling a property line south of FM 1044, in Guadalupe County. LINK K - This link begins at a point along a private road north of FM 1044 in Comal County, and continues southeast parallel lo the road into Guadalupe County. The link then intersects a petroleum pipeline ROW and turns east, paralleling the pipeline to a point south of County Line Road, near its intersection with Rahmeyer Drive. LINK L • This link continues parallel to the pipeline ROW (rom the point where Link K ends tor approximately 5,000 leat until it intersects an existing 69-kV transmission line ROW. At this point the link turns southeast and utilizes the existing transmission line ROW tor approximately 1.650 feet. LINK M - This link begins al a point along the existing pipeline ROW near the intersection of County Line Road and Rahmeyer Drive Th# link runs southeast for approximately 3,800 feet, paralleling property lines. LINK Q • This link begins at a point south of FM 1044, near te New Clear Subdivision in Guadalupe County. The link heads northeast tor approximately 6,800 feet and parallels property lines tor the last 2,150 feet. LINK R • This link runs northeast from the end of Link Q for approximately 5.000 feet parallel to property lines, approximately one milesouth of County Line Road. LINK S knee. This link runs southeast from the intersection of links M, Q and R tor approximately 3.200 feet, paralleling property LINK T • This onginates along FM 1044, approximately 3,000 (eel south of na intersection with Green Valley Road.
