The Herald-Zeitung regrets this error. ► TIU Football SKfiUIN - Texas Lutheran University head football coach Ibm Mueller announced that three mort1 prep football players — Brian Ware of Austin. Brie Massey of Bryan and Joshua I'll mer of Freeport -r- will continue their academic and athletic careers at TLU. Ware is a 5-foot-IO. 193-pound defensive back from Austin's Reagan High School. Ware started two seasons at Reagan, where he played a variety of positions, including quarterback, defensive hack, linebacker, tight end, defensive tackle and defensive end. Reagan advanced to the Class 4A semifinals in 2001 and to the regional finals in 2002. Massey is a 0-2 and 220-pound defensive end/linebacker. He played his prep football at St. Joseph High School, where he was a First Team All-District tight end and linebacker. Turner is a 6-1 and 190-pound quarterback from Brazosport High School. He was a Second Team All-District 24-JA selection in 2002. Texas Lutheran is a NCAA Division ll! member of the American Southwest Conference. The Bulldogs open the 2003 season against Trinity University at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 13 p.m. at 'trinity.
