Shafer, Wendell wed
Debra Lynn Shafer and E. Brian Wendell, both of New Braunfels, were united in marriage on May 3, 1997, at 2 p.m. at the Wendell home in New Braunfels.
The bride is the daughter of Tim and Donna Shafer of New Braunfels. The groom is the son of E.B. and Merle Wendell of New Braunfels.
The Rev. Jerry Lockhart officiated the double-ring ceremony.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a white, off the shoulder gown. The top was made of ventian lace with sequins. The skirt had a bow on the lower back with three ruffles.
The bride’s flowers consisted of purple morning glories and calalyies.
■ Born to Hollie and Garrett Wetson at 1:35 arn May 14, 1997, a daughter, Melissa Dawn, 7 pounds. Grandparents are Jerri Canezaro and Harold Kimrey; Galvin Weston and Lori Turner.
■ Lance Schuetz and his brother Lucas Carr welcomed a new baby brother on April 21, Logan Carr. He weighed 7 pounds. His parents are Alexei and Shelley Carr.
■ Born to Julie and Danny Martinez of New Braunfels at 11:16 a.m. June IO, 1997, a son, Adrian Rene, 8 pounds 3 ounces. Welcomed by big sister Dani. Grandparents are Virginia and Hilario Castilleja; Rosa and Manuel Martinez Sr.
■ Bom to Paul and Michelle Goodner of New Braunfels at 8:05 p.m. June IO, 1997, a son, Garrett Howard, 6 pounds 12 ounces. Grandparents are Mike and Carla Nutting; Jane Goodner, B.R. Goodner.
■ Born to Isabel and Conrad Valero of New Braunfels at 1:04 p.m. June IO, 1997, a son, 7 pounds IO ounces. Grandparents are Rosita Castillo and Libretto Juarez; Socorro and Augustine Valero.
■ Bom to Rosalinda G. Ortiz and Robert Olivo Sr. at 8:46 p.m. June IO, 1997, a daughter, 9 pounds’. Grandparent is Cruz Gallegos.
■ Bom to Andy and Janice Joslin and big sister Candice of Seguin at 12:15 p.m. June IO, 1997, a son, 7 pounds 13 ounces. Grandparents are Ella and Martin Ortiz; Enrigque and Minerva Joslin.
■ Bom to Keith and Kristin Butler and big sister MacKenzie of New Braunfels at 8:20 p.m. June 11, 1997, a son Robert Holden, 8 pounds. Grandparents are Robert Simmons, Mike and Linda Sheridan; Charlie and Carol Butler.
■ Bom to Andy and Lexie Ramirez of San Marcos at 2:29 arn. June 11, 1997, a daughter, 8 pounds 2 ounces. Grandparents arc Richard and Jacquie Pullen; Louise Ramirez and the late Albert Ramirez.
The maid of honor was Tiffany D. Weeks. The bridesmaid was Kathy Sparks.
The best man was Pat Wendell. The groomsman was David MacRoberts.
The flower girl was Courtney Wendell. The ring bearer was Ryan Wendell.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Wendell home which was decorated with purple morning glories and calalyies.
After the couple honeymooned in Dallas, they will reside in San Antonio.
The groom is employed at Answer Travel. The bride will be working in the home.
