For more information about the gala, call 629-6153.Quilt raffle A queen-sized quilt, featuring 21 counted cross-stitched squares featuring recreations of Hummel figurines, made by museum volunteers, will be raffled by the Museum Chapter of the M.I. Hummel Club. Tickets are on sale at the Hummel Museum, where the quilt is on display. The drawing will be Nov. IO, in conjunction with the 50-year anniversary of Sister Hummel’s death.ACS raffia The American Cancer Society Starlight Gala is sponsoring a raffle for a 12-month lease of a 1996 Chevy Tahoe donated by Don Maxwell Chevrolet. Tickets are one for $5 or three for $10, and all proceeds benefit the Comal County Unit of the ACS. The winner will be chosen the night of the gala, June 15.Centennial celebration Esther Schmidt displays the quilt she made for the Friedens United Church of Christ In Geronimo. The church Is celebrating its centennial year with a church festival Saturday. Barbecue will be served from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Country store and craft Items will be for sale. The quilt and other Items will be auctioned at 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided.Sclilltterbahn etal Schlitterbahn Watcrpark will offer a Learn to Swim program fra* children ages 4 to 7, and Junior Lifeguard Camp for children ages 11 to 15, who want to learn life guarding skills and CPR. The Learn to Swim program includes six 45-minute classes, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, over a two-week period. There will be five two-week sessions. The cost is $32. The Junior Lifeguard Camp includes eight, four-hour classes held on consecutive weekdays. Morning or after noon sessions are available from June IO to June 19 and from July 22 through July 31. Cost is $50, and includes a manual, t-shiit and graduation lunch. Registration for both programs is held every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Schlit-teibahn’s main entrance.
