Police still searching for armed robbery suspect

Police are looking for help solving a May 12 robbery in which someone escaped with tile receipts of a popular Ix)op 337 restaurant.
The owner of El Nopalito, located in the I IOO block of Loop 337, was uninjured in an attack that took place at gunpoint after he closed up for the night.
The suspect fled in the owner’s truck, which he abandoned on nearby Common Street.
The gunman spoke in Spanish and demanded money from the Nopalito’s employee, as well as a gold bracelet and keys to victim’s pickup truck.
Police were on the scene within minutes but were unable to locate the suspect. The stolen vehicle was recovered several hours later after being abandoned just blocks from the crime scene.
The suspect was described as a I lispanic male standing
5-foot-4 inches to 5-foot-6 inches tall, weighing 160 to 185 pounds with short brown hair. He was last seen wearing black slacks, a light colored Hawaiian button-up shirt and a yellow baseball cap.
The gunman left the area going southbound on Loop 337 in the victim’s blue Dodge truck.
Police have no suspects and need the public’s help in solving this crime.

Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictment of the individuals responsible for the commission of this crime. All calls are confidential and the caller will remain anonymous.
Tuesday’s story “Pair retires after 71 combined years teaching” should have stated that Bobby and Donna Boehle taught in Comal Independent School District.
The longtime educators also consistently attended sporting games at Canyon High School. Bobby began teaching at Goodwin Primary School.
