Claire ‘Nana’ Johnston
Claire “Nana” Johnston, 78, of New Braunfels died July 26, 1991, at Human Village Oaks Hospital in Universal City.
She was bom Nov. 14, 1912, in Winthrop, Mass., to Earle R. and May A. (nee O’Brien) Haynes. She married Howard R. “Johnnie” Johnston in Seguin, Texas, on May 22, 1931. He preceded her in death Aug. 29,1989.
Mrs. Johnston was a retired caterer and a member of the Catholic church.
The family invites friends and relatives to a memorial reception to be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the family home, 684 Floral Circle. Private committal services will be at the Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Riley of New Braunfels; a brother, Willard D. Hill of Seguin; three grandchildren, Kelley Riley Conway of Loveland, Co., Casey Riley Lohman of Ludlow, 111., and Brett Riley of West Haven, Conn.; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that those so desiring direct memorials to Hospice — New Braunfels.
Local arrangements are with Docp penschmidt Funeral Home.
Marie C. Kay
Private graveside services for Marie C. Kay, 88, of Austin will be at Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, III., at IO a m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Kay died July 25, 1991, at Kirkwood Manor in New Braunfels.
She was bom Aug. 24, 1902, in New York, N Y., to John Michael Carlin and the former Augusta Bilder -housc. Her husband, Dolph Kay, preceded her in death Aug. 20, 1976.
She was a retired proprietor of a men’s clothing store and a member of the Business and Professional Women’s organization.
She is survived by a son, I>on Kay of Austin.
No services will be held in New Braunfels. Local arrangements are with IVicppenschmidi Funeral Home.
Bruce W. Marshall
Funeral service for Bruce W. Marshall, 82, of Canyon Lake will be at IO a.m. Monday at Canyon Lake United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow.
Mr. Marshall died July 25, 1991, at his residence. He was bom Feb. 19, 1909, in Winchester, Va., to Thomas Edwin Marshall and the former Addie May Green. He and his wife, Elizabeth, were married Aug. 26, 1930, in Cattlesburg, Ky. She preceded him in death Feb. 1,1990.
He had been a photo engraver for newspapers and had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Canyon Lake United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann B. Marshall of Canyon Lake; two sons, Charles E. Marshall of Lancaster, Pa.* and Stephen Bruce Marshall of Kalamazoo, Mich.; three grandchildren, Christine Lyne Marshall, Amy Joanne Marshall and Susan Leigh Marshall; and a greatgrandchild, Elizabeth R. Marshall.
Memorial may be directed to the American Cancer Society or Hospice — New Braunfels.
Arrangements are with Docppcnsc-hmidl Funeral Home at Canyon lake.
Jacob G. Hull
Funeral services for Jacob Gov an Hull, 80, of Moulton will be at 3 p.m. today at Zion Lutheran Church in Moulton.
Mr. Hull died July 25, 1991. He was a resident of Moulton who ranched in eastern Gonzales County.
Survivors include his wife, Ellen Hull of Moulton; two sons, J. Cordell Hull of Austin and Dr. Henry Hull and wife Linda of New Braunfels; a daughter, Marsha Machacek and hus hand Jim of Yoakum; and five grandchildren, including Ashley Van and Kristi Hull of New Braunfels.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society or lo Nos pice New Braunfels.

Funeral services for Anna Duncan, 83, of Clinton, Ark., will be at IO a.m. Monday at North Arkansas Funeral Home in Clinton. Burial will follow at Plant Cemetery in Van Buren County, Ark.
Mrs. Duncan died July 26, 1991. She was bom Feb. 17, 1908. She was widowed.
She is survived by four sons, including Donnie Duncan and wife
Sandra of New Braunfels; three daughters; and 29 grandchildren, including Michelle and Amber Duncan of New Braunfels.
