Famous People Players to perform March 28
’ The Greater New Braunfels Arts Council will present the Fajnous People Players as a benefit for Comal County Mental Health Mental Retardation at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at the New Braunfels Civic Center.
The show has life-sized characters of famous people swathed in.vibrant colors and illuminated with ultra-violet light The characters are brought to life through the expertise of unseen puppeteers. Dressed in black velvet and hidden in the shadows of “black light," these performers are the real stars of the show.
The players perform to the beat of rock music, the soulful crooning of country music and the mellow tones of jazz.
Famous People Players have been the subject of films and television programs, such as “Donahue," “West 57th Street" and “A Utile Like Magic," an Emmy-winning documentary. They’ve appeared on Broadway and at Sea World in Orlando, Fla.
