Grannie was bom in Lipan, Texas on May 19, I909. In her spare time, she loved to do craft work, gardening, bingo, reading and eating Blue Bell ice cream. Grannie’s favorite past time was to spend time with her family! Survivors include: her daughters Loretta Baker of New Braunfels and Vera Lee Butcher of Irving, Texas, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grand-child. A graveside service is scheduled for Monday, February 5, 1996 at 11 a.m. Services will be held at Bundick Cemetery. Smiley, Texas. The Rev. Charles DeHaven will officiate. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday and continue until 9 p.m. at Doep-pcnschmidt Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Genevieve Lucille Martinson Funeral arrangements are pending at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas for Genevieve Lucille Martinson, who died in Seguin, Texas on February 2, 19% at the age of 94. Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Norma F. Cotney Nonna F. Cotney, age 59, formerly of New Braunfels, died in Lexington, Tennessee on February I, 1996. A funeral service will be held on Monday. Feb. 5, 1996 at IO a.m. at Tree of Life Fellowship. Burial will take place at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. The Rev. Don Duncan will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to Tree of Life Fellowship. Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Wesley James Handsel, III Wesley James Handsel, 111, of New Braunfels, was still bom on Monday, January 29, 1996 at the Women’s and Children's Hospital, in San Antonio, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 5, 1996 at 11:30 a.m. at the Saints Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery. Msgr. Eugene O’Callaghan will officiate. Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Ernest W. Shar Ernest W. Shar, who resided at another alternative personal care home in New Braunfels, died on Wednesday, January 31, 1996 at the age of 82. He was bom on February 17, 1913 in West Grove, Pennsylvania to Joseph Shar and Mary Javani. His wife preceded him in death. Mr. Shar was a retired master sergeant with the U.S. Air Force, a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, a life member of V.F.W. Post No. 7110 and a life member of the American Legion Post No. 179. Mr. Shar operated the New Braunfels Pro Golf Shop at Landa Park for many years, and served during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Shar is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Arnold) Shar, daughter Pamela Shar, son Richar Shar and his sister, Josephine R. Lambesi. Survivors include daughters Susan Bom-marito and Carol Gore, both of St. Louis, Missouri, grandson Richard Shar, Jr. of Missouri, sister Lilly S. Stevenson of Wallinford, Penn., brother Hector “Toots” Shar, of Kennett Square, Penn., and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 5, 1996 at 3 p.m. at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. Burial will be at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. The Msgr. Edward Bily will officiate. Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Sunday and continue until service time on Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 179 Welfare Fund or to the V.F.W. Post 7110 Welfare Fund. Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Herminia Serna Arrangements are pending at Zoeller Funeral Home for Herminia Serna of New Braunfels. She died at Guadalupe Valley Hospital Friday at the age of 90. „7gr-=s >-.A£*U. hCMl age of 72. Jacob D. Muehleisen Jacob D. Muehleisen of Nixon died Friday, February 2, 1996 at Guadalupe Valley Hospital, Seguin, at the age of 78. Graveside service will be Monday, February 5, 1996 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park at 2 p.m. with full military honors. There will be no visitation. Frank August Bauerlein Frank August Bauerlein, age 79, passed away Saturday, February 3, 1996 at Eden Home in New Braunfels following a lengthy illness. He was bom September 14,1916 in Barksdale, Texas to August and Minnie Wooldridge Bauerlein. He was married on July 6, 1936 in San Angelo, Texas to Dorothy Mae Barbarick who preceded him in death last March. Frank worked as a trainman for the Missouri Pacific Railroad for 38 years prior to his retirement in 1979. He was honorably discharged from the Navy after serving during World War ll on the U.S.S. Mississippi from 1943 to 1945. He was a member of VFW Post 7110. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Mary Annis and Roger Allen; grandsons Scott Allen, Bo Allen, and Jay Allen; two great-grandchildren, all of New Braunfels; and a sister, Susie Smetana of San Angelo. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6, 1996 at I p.m. at the Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Charles Probst officiating. Staudt, a Republican, is currently setting as Mayor Pro-Tem in Leander, where he has served on the city council since 1991. A Baylor University graduate, Staudt has a wide array of political experience including: B Elected State Republican Executive Committeeman. He participated in the development and presentation of an abstinence-based program to private and public schools county wide.
