New Braunfels Herald Zeitung (Newspaper) - December 21, 2005, New Braunfels, Texas OBITUARIES Paid advertisements NMI MMI mm Wednesday, December 21, 2005 — Herald-Zeitung — Page 3A DeLay files for re-election THEOGENIA ANNA METZGER BADING Theogenia Anna Metzger Bading was born to Henry Metzger and Olga Moehrig Metzger in the Converse, TX School teacherage and graduated from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio in 1943. Her interests during her youth were school, reading, 4-II Club, Converse Grange activities, Selma Catholic Youth Organization, sewing and dancing. She met her husband, Harold, in 1946 at a Selma Catholic Bazaar. They married in January 1948. Their first daughter, Frances, was born in February 1949. In September 1950 Theogenia was stricken with polio, hospitalized at Robert B. Green Hospital and then transferred to Gonzales Warm Springs for rehabilitation. In February 1951 a daughter was stillborn. She walked with the help of canes until 1979, when she resorted to using a wheelchair. Theogenia worked at Duncan Field for six months during 1943 and then at Randolph AFB until 1948. After being a homemaker for 19 years she returned to Randolph AFB until retirement in 1979. Theogenia was a member of St. Ann's Christian Mothers' Society, Sts. Peter and Paul School Club, VFW Ladies Aux. #71 IO, NARFF, Comal County Democrats, Comal County Genealogy Society, Sophienburg Museum and Archives, Former Warm Springs Patient Association and Senior Citizens of Comal County. Theogenia waa a devoted wife, mother, “Oma” to her grandsons, Rob and Russell, sister and aunt. They all loved her dearly. Theogenia is lovingly remembered because she was always concerned about others' happiness and never complained about her handicap. She is often referred to as “an angel on earth.” Survivors are daughter, Frances McQueeney and husband Michael; grandsons, Robert Choate and wife, Jacki and Russell Choate and wife, Celina; sister, Jeanette Constance and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Zoeller Funeral Home, with the family present from 6-7 pm to greet friends. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm A mass of celebration will be conducted on Thursday, December 22, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the Sts. Peter and Paul Building Fund, Hope Hospice or the charity of one's choice. MYRTLE LEE KAMIN Funeral arrangements are complete at Zoeller Funeral Home for Myrtle Lee Kamin, age 89, of New Braunfels, who passed away on December 19, 2005. She was born on June 1,1916. She is survived by her daughter, Karen Armer and husband Ron of New Braunfels, grandchildren,Lisa Dudley of Colorado, Kristen Thelander of Houston, Gunnar Thelander of San Marcos, Cindi Armer of Houston, great grandsons, Caleb Dudley and Jacob Dudley of Colorado, niece, Beverly Kelso of California. She was beautifully cared for by her two long time friends, Joanne McDonald and Rosie Prunetta. Mrs Kamin was a long time member of Oakwood Baptist Church. She willed her body to the University of Texas I lealth Science Center in loving memory of her doctor, Dr. Danete Elliott Mullens.
