Frances Divine accepts food for the SOS Food Bank from New Braunfels High School Class of 1942 graduates Jim Rheinlaender and Rudy Seidel..
Class of’42 helps out SOS Food Bank
Members of the New Braunfels High School Class of 1942 delivered food items to the SOS Food Bank Monday, as they do every year, to help needy families.
“We’ve been making donations to the SOS food bank every year,” said Jim Rheinlaender.
Fifty-eight alumni are still alive from the class of 1942.
“We had 104 people in the class of 1942,” Rheinlaender said. “I think a lot of the alumni still live in the area.” Rheinlaender said members of the class meet every second Thursday at Pat’s Place.
Frances Divine, who has been a volunteer at the SOS Food Bank for 20 years, said food items donated to the bank are distributed daily.
“When groups like the class of 1942 bring their donations in, we thank them, and then we store the items until they’re distributed to families in town,” she said. x
For information about the New Braunfels Class of 1942, call Rheinlaender at 625-5445.
