Two Aggie football players arrested
COLLEGE STATION (AP) — Two Texas A&M University football players were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at a fraternity melee.
Police arrested freshman running back John Kelly and junior linebacker Wade Light -sey early Wednesday near the Beta Theta Pi fraternity house.
Kelly was arrested for fighting and Lightsey for using profanity, police said in Thursday’s edition of the Bryan-Col-lege Stations Eagle.
Kelly face additional charge of evading arrest, said court documents.
Aggie football coach Dennis Franchione could not be reached for comment because he was traveling to College Station from New York on Wednesday night, said Alan Cannon, A&M’s associate athletic director for media relations.
“The coach’s policy has been to handle (problems) within the team,” said A&M spokesman Alan Cannon, “but there will be consequences for poor decisions.”
