W I *Why do you have pride in Comal County? 44I have pride in Comal County because of the caring people who live and work here. A community is the people who live in it and it is only as good as the people it represents. The people of Comal County are caring and always come to the aid of their fellow citizens. A great example is the recent United Way Drive in which $260,000.00 was raised through local contributions by individuals and businesses. That money is then given back to the local community through the 28 agencies that the Comal County United Way supports. In working in the drive and asking for volunteers and donations, it amazes me year after year how the local citizens respond so generously. Comal County and New Braunfels are so highly thought of through out the state. When someone asks me where I am from, I am proud to say that I am from New Braunfels. Their response is always how friendly the people are and how the town and surrounding are is so beautiful. Comal County does truly represent what pride is defined as - a "splendid show".** 7 p.m. Monday at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio.
