Funeral services for Charles Vernon Ferrell, 66, of McQueeney were to be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in San Antonio. Burial was to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Officiating were the Revs. Leroy Fleck and Pat Connell.
Mr. Ferrell died Aug. 21, 1991, in Seguin.
He was owner of Tex-All Boating Co. in San Antonio for 37 years. He had served has president and director of the Boating Trades Association of Texas and was a member of the Har-. landale Lions Club and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include his wife, Mickey Ferrell of McQueeny; three children, ' Cynthia Ann Ferrell of San Antonio, • Charles Kevin Ferrell and wife Lisa of McQueeney and Keith Charles Ferrell and wife Leigh of Dallas; and four
grandchildren, Chase and Kate Ferrell and Elly and Georgic Ferrell.
Memorials may be directed ot the Lake McQueeney Ski Bees, P.O. Box 157, McQueeney, Texas 78123; or to the McQueeney Volunteer Fire Department.Alma S. Schulz
A memorial service for Alma S. Schulz, 93, of Eden Home in New Braunfels will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home chapel. Officiating will be Dr. Friedrich Rest.
Private burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in San Antonio.
Mrs. Schulz died Aug. 22, 1991, at McKenna Memorial Hospital. She was bom Jan. 23 1898, in Guadalupe County to Henry and Christine Meyer Salge. She was a lifetime resident of New Braunfels. She married Otto E. Schulz March 29, 1922, in New
Braunfels. Hi preceded her in death in June 1984.
She was a homemaker and member of First Protestant Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Rose Schulz of New Braunfels; a sister, Bertha Stratcmann of Blanco; grandchildren Rita Kaufmann of New Braunfels, Steve Schulz of New Braunfels and Bryta Schulz of San Antonio; great-grandchildren Becky Kaufmann and Sydney Schulz, both of New Braunfels; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Harley O. Schulz in February 1897 and Alger W. Schulz in June 1974.
Memorials may be directed to Eden Home or the charity of one’s choice.

Funeral services for Mary L. Smith, 69, of Canyon Lake will be at I p.m. Saturday at Zoellcr Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Gallaher officiating.
Private burial will be at Cranes Mill Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Smith died Aug. 17 at Four Seasons Nursing Center, Windcrest. She was bom Aug. 3, 1922, in Jacksboro to John R. and Arminda Jane Myers Henderson. She married Ralph Dunning Smith Jan. 19, 1961, in Seguin. He preceded her in death Oct. 27,1990.
Mrs. Smith had married in Duncan, Okla., in 1942 and moved to San Antonio in 1946. She had been a Canyon Lake resident since 1969.
She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She grew up in Jacksboro, at her Grandfather Myers’ Vineyard
ranch and in Dallas-Fort Worth and spent a year in Lawton, Okla., after graduating from high school in 1940.
Survivors include four daughters; Sandy Hayden and husband Dean of Austin, Donna Klein and husband Vince of Ohio, Minda Campbell and husband Jim of San Antonio, and Doty Torres and husband Jesse Jr. of Florida; a stepdaughter, Irene Paste-lak and husband Nicholas of Maryland; a stepson, Brian Smith and wife Nancy of Houston; six grandchildren, Kimberly Klein, Tim Klein, Johnna Spier, Monica Torres, Andrea Torres and Victoria Torres; and two step-grandchildrcn.

Graveside services for James E. Caruthers, 86, of New Braunfels will be at IO a.m. Saturday at Guadalupe
Valley Memorial Park. The Rev. Howard Thrift will of New Braunfels will officiate.
Mr. Caruthers died Aug. 22, 1991, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home. He was bom Sept. 1,1904, in Vinton, La. He married Myrtle Mae Lindsay in New Braunfels in 1980. He had been a New Braunfels resident since 1979.
He was retired from Exxon as a pipe fitter. He was a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Mae Caruthers of New Braunfels; a daughter, Mary Lou Simmons and husband Robert of Houston; a sons, James E. Caruthers Jr. and wife Jean of Louisiana; two stepsons, Marvin Doolittle and wife Ruth and Willie Doolittle and wife Margaret, all of New Braunfels; a sister, Alva LaBor-de of Temple; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Police Blotter
