INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Sheryl Swoopes scored 16 points, Michelle Snow added 14 and Tina Thompson had 13 as the Houston Comets beat the Indiana Fever 68-55 Thursday night.
Snow scored seven points and Thompson had three as the Comets (17-9) used a 10-3 run over a three-minute stretch late in the second half to take a 62-52 lead.
Tamika Catchings had 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Fever (13-13), while Natalie Williams had 14 points and IO rebounds.►Monarchs 86, Slyer Stars 61
SAN ANTONIO (AP) — DeMya Walker and Ruthie Bolton each scored 13 points and the Sacramento Monarchs kept their playoff hopes alive with an 86-61 victory over the San Antonio Silver Stars on Thursday.
Yolanda Griffith added 12 points, Rara Lawson ll, and Tangela Smith IO for the Monarchs, who set a franchise record by shooting 60 percent from the field (36-60).
The win was Sacramento’s fifth in its last five games, as the Monarchs pulled within a half-game of Minnesota for the final Western Conference playoff spot.
