Bedford competes in Ironman Triathlon
Ann Bedford, daughter of Don and JoAnn Bedford of New Braunfels, competed in an Ironman triathlon in Tempe, Ariz., and finished in the top 70 percent.
Bedford, 29, graduated from New Braunfels High School in 1993 and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Austin in 1997.
She earned her law degree from the University of Houston in 2001 and is employed in Austin with the law firm of Fletcher and Springer.
Bedford competed in the one day event on April 9 in a 2 mile swim, followed by a 112 mile bike ride then a 26.2 mile marathon run.
Bedford completed the events in 13 hours and 53 minutes.
“There were about 1,900 competitors, and about 23 percent were women,” she said. “I think I finished about 1,100th."
Her family attended the one day event.
