V&nTOriwireless By Heather Todd Staff Writer New Braunfels City Council could approve Monday night a plan for Landa Park Golf Course that could raise golf fees 5 percent per year for the next five years. City council will meet 6:30 p.m. at the New Braunfels Municipal Building, 424 S. Castell Ave. Five members of the seven-member board unanimously approved the recommended rate increases April 17 as part of a five-year plan to bring in more revenue for the city’s general fund. At this past week’s New Braunfels City Council meeting, District 3 councilman Randy Vanstory asked the golf course advisory board to develop a five-year plan before council finalized the budget. The rate increase will not affect the $2 weekday and $5 weekend annual pass surchaiges. The advisory board also is recommending grandfathering annual fees for those who currently have annual passes, which would disallow the issuance of any new annual passes. All existing annual pass holders will be able to buy annual passes at the rate offered for that fiscal year. If a member does not renew his pass, he will not be eligible to obtain an annual pass at a later TxDOT will present projects Friday SAN ANTONIO — Residents are invited to attend a rural transportation public meeting hosted by the Texas Department of Transportation at 7 p.m. Friday at the TxDOT district office building and training room, 4615 Northwest Loop 410. If council approves the recommended 5 percent fee increase, it would become effective July I. The advisory board also approved an amendment to review the fee increase in two years. Board member Ned Lynch said the 5 percent increase would help the golf course stay even with a projected four-percent increase in expenditures the next five years. In May 1999, council approved a major restructuring of the golf course fees. Council voted to add a $5 per round surcharge on week ends and holidays and impose a $2 per round surcharge for each round played after the 100th round for annual fee golfers.
