The Hill Country Chorus, New
Braunfels’ own chapter of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America, meets at 7 p.m. every Tuesday at the First Baptist Church’s Rice Hall on Cross Street. The group would like to have more men to help “Keep America Singing.” The Hill Country Chorus is in dire need of tenors; you do not have to be an accomplished singer to be a Barbershopper.

Car club swap meet
The New Braunfels Area Car Club and the New Braunfels Rotary Club will sponsor the fifth annual Swap Meet at the Comal County Fairgrounds from 7 a.m. until dark today, Saturday and Sunday. Texas history exhibited
The Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the staff of the Republic of Texas Museum will hold an open house from ll a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday celebrating two exhibits: “Young Lives in Young Texas, Children on the Frontier” and “Lost Victorian Austin.” The museum is at 510 E. Anderson Lane in Austin, the comer of Interstate 35 and Highway 183.

Guatemalan weavings for sale
St. Paul Lutheran Church at 181 S. Santa Clara Ave. will have a sale of handmade Guatemalan weavings from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday in the fellowship hall. Proceeds from the sale go directly back to the women’s weaving cooperative in Guatemala.
Eden Alternative celebrates
Eden Home will celebrate the first anniversary of the Eden Alternative in New Braunfels on Sunday. The community is welcome to participate starting at 2:30 p.m. with* a worship service. New Executive Director Herman Sabrsula will be introduced. Games, music and food will follow at 3:45.
Woman's Chamber retreat
The New Braunfels Women’s Chamber of Commerce will hold an all-member retreat from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, led by Vice Chairwoman Alane Cameron. The retreat will be held at “Winding Creek,” Highway 311, 15 miles from New Braunfels. Spouses, friends and family are
