Community Events Heads Up — ► Park hours The City of New Braunfels Parks and Recreation Department welcomes the public to the parks and recreation facilities for the spring and summer season. Traffic barricades on Playground Drive and Hinman Island Drive will be in place at 7 a.m. (6 a.m. through Easter Sunday) and taken down by 8 p.m. on weekends and holidays through Labor Day. Individual picnic tables are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Group picnic areas are available by reservation through the parks office.
