Hunter Road floods improve* monts
Every weekend, crowds of people put themselves in jeopardy by stepping out from behind parked cars to cross Hunter Road’s two lanes of moving traffic "in the Gruene shopping district. Hunter Road is too narrow for parked cars, two-lane traffic and so many people. This is a potential accident situation which is waiting to happen.
What can we do?
Southbound traffic on Hunter, headed towards the low water crossing, can avoid most of the congestion by exiting on New Braunfels Street, which is one way, and is thus much safer to travel on. If Hunter Road was also made one way north from the Gruene Road intersection, then the central Gruene traffic would be safer and a lot easier for the pedestrians to navigate.

County officials looking to Increase tho size of government
I am amazed that while Republicans all over the country are looking for ways to reduce the size, cost and complexity of government, our so-called Republicans on Commissioners Court keep looking for ways to increase the size, cost and complexity of government.
County Judge Carter Casteel and Commissioners Court are currently pushing.for three new government entities (and bureaucracies):
I. A TAXING Water District for Canyon Lake, Spring Branch and Bulverde (Vote NO May 6th!)
2. Incorporation of the entire Canyon Lake Area—creating a taxing city government; and,
3. Creation of a Comal County Housing Authority, which plans to subsidize low-income housing with your state and federal TAX dollars. (Commissioners Court is voting on this item this Thursday, April 14, 1995.)
I urge everyone who is fed up with this “Big Government” attitude of County Judge Carter Casteel and Commissioners Court to be at Commissioners Court this Thursday, April 14 to voice objection to creation of a Comal County Housing Authority.
Yes, I expect they will proceed with creation of the Housing Authority anyway, but if we don’t make our opposition known, Judge Casteel and Commissioners Court will be entitled to think we WANT a Housing Authority.
Hopefully I’ll see you Thursday morning.
Sincerely, Ed Nolan
