By the associated press a sprawling Winter storm plastered the Central Rockies and Plains with heavy wind blown Snow at the National weather service termed the storm and urged Holiday trav we Southern Wyoming Are Cashiers and the Nebraska Panhandle. Bitter cold Snow and blowing Snow numbed a Broad area from Montana to Colorado and East into the Dakotas and Nebraska. Snowfalls of 6 to 18 inches were heaped into huge drifts by winds gusting to 45 Miles per hour in Eastern Wyoming and Western Nebraska. Temperatures at or near Zero made travel almost impossible. Weather forecasters in Cheyenne wyo., were heavy Snow warnings were posted in Colorado Wyoming and Nebraska. Traveler advisories extended West into Utah North into Montana South As far As Arizona and East into the Dakotas. Winter storm watches or warnings were hoisted Well ahead of the storm in the Dakotas Iowa Minnesota Wisconsin Illinois and Missouri across the country thunderstorms rolling through the Southeast spawned a Tornado that ripped a Mobile Home Community wednesday near Ocala Fla. Up photo University test scores slump 20points on verbal Ann Arbor Mich a Scholastic aptitude test scores for students entering the University of Michigan Are Down significantly this year according to the school s adminis Sions director Clifford Sjogren said wednesday that median sat scores for students before admission to Michigan were 20 Points lower on the verbal test and 10 Points lower on the math test than students scores last year. The median scores were 520 on the verbal compared with 540 last year and 590 on the math compared with 600 last year he said. Sjogren said the biggest test score drop was for out of state students who had a median 40-Point drop on the verbal Section and a 30-Point decline on the math Section. In state students averaged a 20-Point drop on the verbal test and no decline on the math part he said. Sjogren said this year s sat score drop is the most significant in the past 10 years.
