(AP Wlrepboto) Man Accused In Drug Case PROVIDENCE, R. I. (AP) Henry Harding, 37. of Provi- dence and Boston, described by police as a "major narcotics pleaded innocent in dis- trict court Saturday to three narcotics charges. He was charged with illegal possession of narcotics, illegal possession of a needle and syr- inge and maintaining a narcot- ics nuisance. Bail was set at for a hearing Feb. 18. Police said 25 packets of her- ein were found in the basement of his house during i raid early this morning. Episcopal Bishop Tags Encyclical Dismal Document SAN FRANCISCO (AP) Bishop C. Kilmer Myers of the Episcopal Diocese of California says he regards the Unman Catholic encyclical on birth' con- irol as a dismal document "sup- ported by a benighted under- standing of human sexuality." The bishop, speaking Friday to the 119th Diocesan Conven- tion, said he believes that- "all persons of whatever religious .or nonreligious persuasion commit- ted to the cause of man, must take their' stand" against the birth control position of. the Catholic church.
