Probable .Murder at Cedar Lake.Crown Point. Ind., March 30.—Albert Knaus, a farm hand, broke into the sleep* In* apartments of Mrs. Nicholas Haan, near Cedar Lake, and stamped her with ; both feet, breaking several ribs. He also . struck her with Ids flats and finally dragged her into the barn-yard, where he left her lying as if dead. Knau* was arrested and brought here to jail, and last night a crowd of youths and boys surrounded the jail and demanded the prisoner. SherifT Hayes armed himself with a | Winchester and threw open the door, lt;whereupon the crowd scattered.
