He gives the following information effective july 1. 1970. On a Mobile Home less than 5 years old the Semi annual tax will be changed from Ivi cents per Square foot to 10 cents per Square foot. Those owners who have not paid their last half Mobile Home tax May still pay at the old rate if paid before july 1, 1970. Mobile Home owners who Are 65 years of age or older and have a net income of $3,500 or less May continue to pay their tax at the old rates. In order to qualify for these rates at least 30 Days before paying his Mobile Home tax the owner should go to the county treasurers office and take with him a copy of his birth certificate and a copy of his Iowa income tax return for the latest year. If no tax return has been filed an affidavit stating net income received for the past year will be accepted. Older Mobile Homes will still be figured on a percentage basis using the new rates for the base figure. Also effective july 1, 1970, farm trailers will not be required to be licensed. These trailers must be used for agricultural purposes Only in order to qualify. The new Law requires a $5 minimum motor vehicle registration fee and also provides that no refunds of registration fees for less than $5 be allowed. When a delinquent License is paid on a truck a penalty is added. After july 1, 1970, if a truck owner wishes to raise the amount of weight he is allowed to haul after he has paid for his delinquent registration he must pay the penalty on the added fee also unless he Waits 45 Days or More after buying his truck registration.
