Retail Sale of gasoline by the state at eighteen cents a gallon was begun this morning at Watertown Aberdeen and rapid City with the likelihood that Sioux Falls would be added to the list shortly and the Assurance from the governors Secretary at Pierre that the fluid would be on Sale by the state at Huron and Madison As soon As installation of storage tanks is completed at these Points. A shipment of gasoline received at the state tanks at Mitchell the Las week in May had been distributed to the retail sales Points. The eighteen cent Price includes a two cent state tax. The lowest filling station Price in the state in recent months has been Twenty cents which has included the tax. Eleven cars ordered for Mitchell while gasoline filling stations Are still Selling gasoline in Mitchell at 24 cents the state Highway depot Here a where the gasoline War of Pov. W. H. Mcmaster was inaugurated is out of gasoline and has been out for three Days. Eleven cars of gasoline however Are on the Way to Mitchell and have been lost somewhere Between the Oklahoma Oil Fields and Mitchell. The cars were shipped on May 23. And have not been heard from. If they do not arrive today it is asserted at the Highway department a tracer will be started for them. A new 15.000 gallon storage tank has been placed at the depot and is ready for service today. Two new hand pumps will be installed and gasoline when it arrives will be sold at 18 cents. Figures at the depot indicate that the Banner Day of the season thus far was june 2, when the Supply ran out and when 3.300 Gallons were sold. With the second storage tank set up the Highway depot now has storage facilities for 32,000 Gallons.
