With a substantial Cash surplus after last year s successful fair the county association will pursue its established policy of turning the fair s earnings to further improving the local exposition. There will be a special Holiday program labor Day and As usual the daily racing programs will be an outstanding feature of the week. President r. W. Hilton is Book ing some splendid attractions which will again make the local fair out standing from the standpoint of entertainment. W. H. Hungerford has again accepted the position of superintendent of grounds a fact which Means that the entire fair Plant will be placed in perfect condition no. 25 motor police will rigidly enforce net ban on fireworks in this state Pennsylvania motor police have been ordered to strictly enforce Pennsylvania s anti fireworks Law. All kinds of pyrotechnics Are banned with the exception of toy pistols toy guns or other devices in which paper Caps containing Twenty five hundredths grains or less of powder or used. Smethport has a local ordinance which prohibits use of Cap pistols As Well As All other types of fire works. The new state Law prohibits the Sale or even the exposure for Sale and the use of fireworks in any Community except in certain cases in which municipalities have obtained permits for Public displays. A Bond of not less than must be posted by municipalities applying for fireworks permits to insure ment of damages to persons or prop erty injured by the prot clinics. The motor police or any sheriff police office or Constable have been ordered to seize or cause to be re moved at the expense of the owner stocks of fireworks or combustibles offered or exposed for Sale stored or held in violation of the Law. Lew Thomas stricken Lew Thomas 82, prominent Smethport citizen was stricken with a severe attack of illness at the Johnson drug store main Street saturday morning and was taken to the Home of his daughter mrs.
