School Reduced Bulk of Force to Depart WASHINGTON Wi Secretary of the Army Brucker Monday announced plans to cut in half the number of regular Army para troopers at Little Rock Central High School He also said the Army will dismiss from federal control the bulk of Arkansas Na tional Guardsmen who were fed eralized Sept 24 Brucker said the reduction in federal troop strength in Arkan sas will start immediately and will return about 500 of the 1000 members of the 101st Airborne Di vision to their regular post at Ft Campbell Ky The Army said that only 1800 Arkansas National Guardsmen will be retained on federal duty and that the remaining 8500 members of the Guard will oe re leased Major Force Brucker said also that Maj Gen Edwin A Walker com mander of the federal force or ganized to enforce court inte gration orders at the high school has been ordered to use the 153rd Regiment of the Arkansas Na tional Guard as the major op erational force to carry out his mission Brucker said
