Lawler Whittemore De corah Manly and Forest City Plan Projects DES SIOINES Oct 13 tysix Iowa public works proposals amounting to were moving forward to Washington to day after being approved by the Iowa public works advisory board Twentythree of the projects al ready were enroute seeking national approval They total Twentythree more were in the fin al stages of preparation as engin eering forms wore being filled out The new list came out of a board session which also heard protests of the Iowa Public Service com pany of Sioux City against a 000 grant to the city of Remsen for a municipal electric light plant No Formal Action The board took no formal action on the request pointing out that it is obligated to forward all projects received to Washington regardless 01 what action the board itself might see fit to take The projects forwarded to Wash ington today included Waverly sewage disposal plant 590000 West Union waterworks construction Fort Dodge waterworks Laurens sew age plant 59628 The following projects were passed upon by the board and or dered sent to Washington as soon as the engineering forms can be filled out Guthrie Center waterworks 000 Cherokee schools HURT WHEN STRUCK BY TRAIN Belmond Truck Demolished Hosick Suffers Cuts and Bruises BELMOND Oct Hosiclc vas injured when the truck he was driving was hit by the M and St L combined freight and passenger train on the crossing in southwest Belmonl on highway 15 late yes terday afternoon Hosick was driv ing a truck loaded with beets to the local sugar beet factorys dump when he was struck The train was coming from the west and Hosick claimed his view was obstructed by trees near the railway companys right of way The truck was completely ished and sugar beets scattered fot several hundred feet Mr Hosicks right ear was badly cut and he received severe body bruises The truck belonged to Ran dall Nelson owner of a fleet of trucks hauling beets This accident is the seventh car accident for
