plaintiff who claimed that amount was due on a promis sory note to the estate of Chris Harrington of which he is admin istrator I R Boomhower local attorney represented the defendant MRS WILLEY 77 DIES ON VISIT Succumbs From Infirmities of Age at Home of Her Daughter Mrs H H Willey 77 died at the home of her daughter Mrs R E DeReus 1020 First street southwest about 1 oclock Friday afternoon Infirmities of age was given as the cause of her death She had been ill for about three weeks and was visiting at the home of her daugh ter when death occurred Mrs Willey is survived by her husband who resides at 516 North Delaware and five children Charles C Frank Claude Mrs O A Kiba and Mrs DeReus all of Mason City Mrs Willey was born at Ringwood 111 Nov 20 1855 and came to Ma son City at the age of 9 She re sided inMason City most of her life with the exception of a short time spent in the west She was marriec near Mason City Dec 10 1874 She was a member of the W R C for several years cent tax was or a clock Further Investigation revealed hat the entire tax roll of O L eshak assessor for Plymouth cor poration was full of clock and watch assessments That was a situation that had not been In evidence for years for al though clocks and watches are listed In the assessment rolls it has become a custom to disregard them in making assessments The original idea of assessing watches and clocks goes back to pioneer days when such were re garded as luxuries along with musi cal instruments Situation Changed In latter years however watches and clocks have no longer been re garded as luxuries and gradually accessors left them out of consider ation and only askedthe taxpayers whether they had radios or pianos and when the situation seemed to warrant it about diamonds Then came Mr
