it Certainly I do Every word of it is true This was the answer volunteered today when J A Nelson prosecutor as county attorney of the murder case in which B Frank Kneeskern Castalia cattle buyer was sent to prison eight years ago was asktd for his estimate of Kneeskerns new version of the Van Brocklin double murder at a lonely cabiu near Castalia on Dec 11 1921 In this statement given to the ocal attorney and a brother of the rlsoner Fred Kneeskern on Tuea iay of this week the Castalia man admitted he killed Charlie Van Brocklin but denied that he slew the wife Irene Van Brocklin Tried on Only Ono Charge Altho indicted for both murders Kneeskern was tried both here and at Charles City for the slaying of Mrs Van Brocklin The charge against him in connection with the young husbands death was not pressed and still stands His story briefly told was that Charlie Van Brocklin returned to his cabin home to find Kneeskern and Mrs Van Brocklin together He charged her with infidelity picked up Mr Kneeskerns shotgun and NASHVILLE Tenn Nov 28 With a shoe lace drawn around his neck the body of R E Donnell 63 president of the closed Liberty Bank and Trust company an insti tution which he organized was found in a hotel room here early today Search for Mr Donnell had been made for several hours before it was learned that he had registered at the hotel Repeated telephone calls to the room went unanswered and the door was opened M D Johnson assistant cashier of the bank identified the body Envelope Is Found An envelope on which was written to Ridley E Donnell Jr from Daddy and containing his watch and chain was found in his vest pocket The lace from his left shoe had been removed and tied around his neck over a handkerchief Police said Mr Donnell had com mitted suicide and that no inquest was necessary Since the bank closed the night of Nov 13 friends of the banker said he had worked almost cease lessly in an effort to reopen it and as a result had been under a con stant strain HILLSBORO 111 Nov 28 William A Baker 45 assistant cashier of the Farmersville bank which closed in September because of frozen assets shot and killed himself with a revolver in the bank today Baker had been working with Roscoe Hamilton receiver in check ing the affairs of the bank in which the assistant cashier was one of the principal stockholders Baker shot himself while Hamilton had stepped 1927 The date for their retrial was set for Dec 8 Charles C Burlingham president of the bar association said disbar ment proceedings would be insti tuted shortly against lawyers who were accused at forces of winter attacked the country on widespread fronts In the middlewest south and east temperatures went down during the night to the lowest spots of the season and in many places the day as the Investigation of Boy Held in Butler Jail ALLISON Nov H W Burma stated today that the case of Virgil Stewart 18 Webster City is being investigated further and that as yet he had no announce ment to make concerning the dis position to be made of the youth or what officials had discovered in questioning him Stewart who was arrested at Spring Valley Minn admitted he was implicated In an attempt to rob the Austlnvllle Sav ings bank and holdups at IJavit Corners and Chester in Howard county He is being held in the Butler county jail FAMILY OF FOUR FOUND STABBED Police Without Any Clew to Assailant at Farm Home POUGHKEEPSIE New York Nov 28 family of four re siding on a farm near Stanfordville was found stabbed to death today Police wore without a clew to the assailant and unable to establish a motive for the murders The bodies of James Husted Ger mond 47 Mrs Mabel Greeory Ger mond 47 and their children Ber nice 18 and Raymond 10 were found by an employe of a creamery Each of the weather instruments dropped to January levels Thursday night for the lowest temperature of the fall 4 degrees below the mark set on Tuesday night In the early morning however the wind swung around into the southeast and there was an Immediate reaction At 8 oclock the temperature had risen 8 degrees and the ascent continued thru the morning added by an over cast sky which gave weight to the
