HARRISONVILLE Mo 18yearold airman whose parents Jive at Danville Iowa near Burlington has admitted in a written statement that he killed a Kansas City automobile dealer in an argu ment over a car payment Cass County Prosecutor A J Anderson said a charge would he filed against A Richard French to Sell Top Jet Harrell by Monday Harrell is a son of Mr and Mrs Everett Harrell Danville He has been living with his wife Peggy 22 in a trailer near the Grand view Air Force Base where he is stationed His wife has two children by a former marriage The body of the victim William Allen Hill 32 was found northwest of Peculiar Friday beside a lonely road not far from Harrells trailer Mer Near Base Hill had been missing since he left home Wednesday morning to meet a man near the Grandview base Officers said Harrell told them he bought a car from Hill Monday giving a check which he asked Hill to hold until there was enough money in the bank to cover it Then Harrell met Hill near the air base Wednesday to talk about the check The prosecutor quoted Harrell as saying Hill got in Harrells car and they drove south from the air base Hill started arguing with me claiming that I owed him for a car I previously had purchased from Harrell was quoted by Anderson as saying He ordered me to stop and I refused I kept on driving Then Hill leaned over and tried to grab the ignition keys We scuffled for a moment Then I reached under the front seat with my left hand and got hold of the pistol I shot Hill as he was leaning over still trying to get the ignition The prosecutor said the airman related he dumped the body out at the lonely spot and threw Hills billfold away Washes Off Stains Harrell washed the bloodstains from his car at a Peculiar Mo filling station telling the atten dant he had shot a rabbit The airman was questioned all day Friday and finally admitted the shooting after officers let him talk with his wife Anderson said The prosecutor added that Har rcll said his wife knew nothing about the slaying and was not im plicated Young Harrell attended high school at Burlington but quit in his junior year to enlist in the Air Force in March 1954 Fra Co Attorney Charged in firs rolled into the Union Station bu since arrival time I like it more and more Actually this isthe first time I have been in Chicago and Im grateful to the sponsors of the trip for the opportunity of seeing the International Livestock Exposition and the wonderful sights that have beenarranged for us As far as the trip goes the only Ihing I can say its the most won derful thing that ever sprawling Continental Can Co plant south of the city and believe me I never for a minute realized how many thousands I should say millions of cans are produced daily Officials at the plant told me hey
