Sales Tax Hike Repeal During Special Legislative Session Extra Half Per Cent Irks Hoegh Boost May Hurt Party DES MOINES Iff Gov Le Hoegh said Friday he might as the Iowa Legislature if it is con vened late next year to conside tax revision to repeal the nc and extra half per cent stat sales tax I have always been dedicate against the sales tax increase a though 1 had to take it when was enacted by the 1955 Legis the governor continuec 1 had preferred a substantial in crease in the income tax Bigger Yield I would ask repeal of the sale tax increase only if sufficient rev enue is collected by the time c a special session for tax revisio late next year It appears tha the increase will yield more than we The Iowa Tax Study committe is expected to make recommenda tions about next Sept 1 for ta revision The act which create the committee called for a specia session of the Legislature as soon as the committee reports Hoeg has said repeatedly that he wil call one then He said he had discussed Wever BURLINGTON Burlington woman and her teenage son were injured fatally in the collision of two cars south of here Thursday night while they were enroute to a church supper at Denmark Iowa The dead arc Mrs Richard Kemp 56 and James Kemp 14 Mrs Kemp was dead when author ities arrived at the scene of the crash at the junction of Highways 61 and 16 10 miles south of Bur lington James died later in ahos pital Mrs Kemps husband 54 and Robert Coles 23 of Burlington were hospitalized with serious in juries Highway patrolmen said the Coles car pulled on to Highway 61 from No 16 and turned north in
