Greensweig son of Mr and Mrs Harold Greensweig were announced as first prize winners of the baby popularity contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars in connection with their home talent show Fun For All The announcement of the win ners was made by Mrs Dave Scrimger judge who pinned blue ribbons on the children They re ceived sterling silver cups as prizes After the awarding of the prizes the final performance of Fun For AH was presented to a large au dience The proceeds of the show will be used in a memorial fund which includes military funerals Foreign Costumes Shown at Meeting Charles City Costumes from Holland Japan and Belgium were modeled when Mrs Oscar Immer told of 3 women from foreign countries at the Unit 4 of the Cen tral Methodist church meeting in the home of Mrs George Brock meyer The costumes were mod eled by Mesdames Jean Staynor Margaret Riden and Florence Irons The devotions were led fay Mrs Virgil Bryant and an article telling of the Brewster hospital in Jacksonville Fla was read by Mrs Irons Two medical articles were read by Mrs W G Henke and Mrs Ida Kober giving the group an idea of where mission ary money was being sent Well Known Names on Senior dent of Charles City who lost his life during the war will not be forgotten especially in Long Beach Cal A proposed elementary school there would be named the Capt Raymond J Collins school The 23 classroom building with cafeteria and kindergarten would be built at a cost of The late Capt Collins son of Mr and Mrs W J Collins of Long Beach died June 12 1945 in a mission over Japanese held terri a m Monday with the Brady funeral home of Cresco in charge of arrangements Osage Scout Tells of World Jamboree Trip Charles summary of a trip to Paris France was given Thursday night when Tom Kelly of
