the breakfast dishes in the land I during the next four years It is one I of the favorite foods of President Herbert Hoover i So says Mrs Mary E Rattley One Time Ranked as Outstanding Experience EDITORS this the second of n series of sketches drawn from a letter written by Editor W F Muse to one of his GlobeGazette associates there is an interesting account of the paper interview granted by Thoniiis A Edison on his birthday Mr Muse was among the newspaper men who put questions to the aged inventor The opening installment Tuesday supplied a humorous description of how the local man crashed the gate to the Edison estate arid she should be in a position to arJAMI BEACH Fla March was in the party when it surrounded know For eight years she presided ivl Edison in his study answering hotel we saw the distinguished party in the motorcade which passed the prin cipal street and stopped two minutes at the public school to give the young idea of our next generation the thrill of their lives to tell per haps their grandchildren of the glorious day when they shouted and sang their welcome to the next president Edison is what the ladies call dear He waived his rules with j f d j 00 j state Mr Hoover never once complained of her cooking in the eight years of her service at the S street home Only once in that time did he make a request and then he asked to have his eggs cooked a tired a big share of the world but seemingly never tires the coming president of the greatest republic of the earth andthe great estinventor of the age in friendly reunion as friend and chums of years present and years agone in the beautiful setting of tropical splendor But it was Edisons day and the other three were very careful to furnish only the remarkable back ground to add to the spotlight that was focused in unusual incande scence on the inventor ofcanned conversation and canned cadences and the miracle of light which transforms darkest midnight into noonday brightness in owe cities and even the countryside Henry Harvey Youthful Henry and Harvey hy the way more than septagenarians are boyish yet in looks and actions and would pass easily as men of middle ages not mediaeval of 40 or 45 years They have been friends and cronies of Edison for 40 years and have celebrated with the wizard many of his birthdays Altho Mr Edison did not an nounce that he had discovered a plant that would produce competi tive commercial rubber he an nounced he had made plans to plant the 22000 acres near Savannah Ga donated by Henry Ford with rubber producing plants along lines evolved by him In
