measure also gives Eisen hower greater leeway in spending million in militaryeconomic aid to the troubled area between now and July 1 This was the second time the House has voted on the Eisen hower Doctrine Five weeks ago it overwhelmingly approved measure carrying out Eisenhow ers original request for specific authority to use American armed forces if necessary against any Mideast Communist aggression Wording Changed The Senate changed the word ing to read that the United Control at Gaza Aqaba Pullout Is Under Way GAZA blue and white of the United Nations was raised over the Gaza Strip Thurs day replacing the flag of Israel All but a small contingent oi Israeli soldiers left the troubled Mediterranean coastal area be fore dawn after 125 days of oc cupation The rest were to com plete only a small amount of cash They entered the K and H Oil Co through the front door which they pried open and ruined the safe but didnt get it open They got S15 or S20 from the cash register drawer overall major NEW CASTLE Del vio lent explosion tore a Navy tanker apart following a collision with a freighter in the Delaware River early Thursday At least 10 crew members of the tanker including the captain and most of his deck officers were missing and feared dead The captain of the freighter the S S Elna II reported that all 23 members of his crew had been accounted for The tanker the Mission San Francisco sank almost immediately in shal low water near Pea Patch Jetty three miles south of here Twenty six of the 45 members of the tanker crew escaped in one of the Missions boats and nine others were pulled out of the wa ter by a wliolc host of small craft fishing boats and vessels from nearby refineries which raced to the scene Sudden Storm Rescue efforts were hampcret by a sudden snowstorm which blew up over the river at dawn and fire broke out anew on the stern of the tanker which jutted out of the water and burned fiercely Rescuers sai1 it was doubtful that any of the crew members still aboard who sur vived the blast could be alive The 26 survivors who were transferred to a Coast Guard cut ter and later to an Army tug were put ashore at New Castle None appeared seriously injured One the svirvivovs said the captain and those on the bridge must have been killed by the tre mendoLis blast which tore the superstructure into bits The tanker owned by the Navy is said Thursday he is trying to slow down the rate of overnment spending in an effort o keep living costs from rising still more Eisenhower also told a news conference that his lingering cough now has developed into a cold in the head and that he is laving difficulty hearing At the same time however Eisenhower said the cough which has been bothering him for several weeks is better Eisenhowers voice was quite husky and he coughed a couple of times during the meeting with newsmen He had a piece of cot ton in his left ear Ear Infection Later While House Press Sec retary James C Hagerty an iiounced
