annual picnic sponsored by the auxiliary at East park Sunday with Mrand Mrs O H Albee of Marsballtown guests Foltowing the dinner ivhich was served cafeteria stylo a number of short talks were given the first person on the program be ing Mrs Albee state president of Uio auxiliary Mrs Albee talked to the men bers about rehabilitation stressing the value of the annual Merhbria day poppy sale Onethird of tup poppy money raised according to Mrs Albee is sent to the state for exservice boys in hospitals who have no compensation Every ex service member of the American Legion having no regular income re ceives about 2monthly for spending money Another phase of the Re habilitation work being carried on is In regard to higher education for children of exsoldiers Mr Albee told about the Legion convention which is to be in Mar shalltown this year and invilcl members to come and take advan tage of the newly paved city street the new hotel and the convention benefits The next speaker of the picnic program Howard OLeary spok on membership stressing the im portance of being a Legion member and the necessity of increasing the local membership and keeping it up He explained the benefits which an exsoldier can gain from his mem bership in the American Legion Mrs J E MacDonald gave a talk to the home auxiliary th organization of a new auxiliary ii Plymouth The new unit was organ ized
