Mr and Mrs J N Sprole here Dr Calvin Bryce Hoover Mrs Hoover and two children sail today from New York for Berlin From that city Dr Hoover will continue his journey to Russia where he will investigate banking conditions He is a member of the faculty of the Durham N C university 7 A generous salary permits the residence of Mrs Hoover better known here as Faith Sprole in her choice of an European city which will be either Berlin or Vienna In either place Mrs Hoover will con tinue her studies in music and the children will attend a kindergarten As a boy in a small Illinois town Tir Hoover made his own way Even the interruption of his studies by the World war when he was half thru his college course at Mon mouth HI could not hold him baeK from his goal Folowing active par ticipation over seas he resumed his studies and was graduated from Monmouth college after which ne tried farming at Goldfield for a year But the lure of higher education beckoned with the result that whoa Durham
