Special Selections Planned for Wednesday Night by Musicians A variety in type of music is an outstanding characteristic of the programs Sunday and Wednesday nights for the municipal band in East park Classic numbers from the old masters musical comedy and operetta selections marches caprices and popular tunes are in cluded Carleton L Stewart director of the high school band Is the feat ured soloist on the Sunday night program with cornet solos He has appeared previously as soloist with the band and before many local clubs and has established a high reputation as a virtuoso soloist as well as director of an organization which ranked first in national com petition Raymond overture by Thomas a melodious and colorful selection is also featured on the Sunday night program A selection from Kerns famous Show Boat and Her berts caprice Bandinage have been scheduled A suite Ballet Egyptian by Luigini will be given Wednesday night In this series of short themes the composer has caught descrip tive effects which made the suite outstanding The overture Wednes day night is Queen for a Day by Adams Fredericksburg Rites Held for Fred Brown FREDERICKSBURG July Funeral services for Fred Brown 66 were held yesterday afternoon in the Methodist church with the Rev A M Sharp of the Brethren church officiating Mr Brown died at his home here Wednesday after an illness extending over seven years Besides his wife he is survived by one son Frank Brown of Sum ner three daughters Mrs Mae Triplett of Fredericksburg Mrs Vida Beebe of Brooklyn and Mrs Arlene Knieger of Tripoli Iowa and one ROCKWELL DIES Aged Resident Survived by Wife Three Daughters and One Son ROCKWELL July H Hansen 76 died at oclock last night from heart disease He had only been ill a day but had been in poor health since suffering a stroke last winter Mr Hansen lived in Rockwell since retiring from his farm in Bath township 18 years ago He came to Cerro Gordo county from Clinton county Surviving are his wife son Cornelius P Hanaen and three daughters Mrs Mary Wltte Mrs Henry Johnson and Mrs Amelia Gaffney all living in or near Rock well Two brothers and two sisters preceded him In death Funeral arrangements Trowbridge Is General Superintendent SHEFFIELD July 22The Sheffield Brick and Tile company which has not operated either of its plants during thte past season will again swing into action in the next few clays when the company wil open plant No 2 at full capacity The plant will operate on a full time schedule employing 40 work men who will work nine hours a day for six days a week with the exception of the firing squad which will work two 12 hour shifts W B Trowbridge will be general plant superintendent with John Furness the foreman in charge of the firing and the yard Forrest Bird
