Robert P Walker of Kenosha Wis representing the American Federation Full Fashioned Hos iery Workers is in Mason City this week presenting1 the unions side oi the AllenA lockout at the Wiscon sin city and solicitingfinancial support for his organization in endeavor to force recognition of the union by the management of the hosiery plant Monday night he addressed mem bers of the local plasterers union and the railway firemen and Tues day night he was to talk to the un ion carpenters Other groups will ne addressed later in the week Told Own Experiences In his talk Monday night ha re lated his own experiences as an em ploye at the AllenA mill telling how hewith other employes was called to a meetingat which a com pany manager discharged all ana stated that the condition of their re turn to work would be a disavowal of union membership This was in February of 1928 Since that time Mr Walker has spent 46days in the house of con rection at North Milwaukee for hav ing violated an injunction by apj preaching closer than a block to the plant Trial was in a Milwaukee frd era court and a jury trial was de nied him and his companions ac cording to his report In all of the cases growing out of the lockout in which there has been a jury trial said Mr Walker we have won It is only when a judge reserves to himself the right to make the ruling that we are beaten To do this the charge is changed raised charge Funds for releasing Walker at a meeting in Chicago presided overby Clarence Darrow They had served 40 days when freed The money which we were to pay in fines said Walker was in reality to the company as damages Thats why we chose to lay it out in jail Instead Could Work Elsewhere Money being raised thruout the country is to be used entirely for legal costs and for publicity activi
