Greenlces visited friends at Providence K I enroute New Hampton Car Stalls on Track Wrecked by Train NEW HAMPTON Jan C Schmidt proprietor the Schmidt cafe here and his mother Mrs Aug ust Schmidt had a narrow escape here this week The two were driving west on Main street In Mr Schmidts car and were crossing the Chicago Great Western railroad tracks near tho depot when the motor of the car stopped the rear wheels of the car being on the track It was train time for the pas senger going south and Mr Schmidt became excited got out and tried to push the car oft the tracks hut the deep snow was too much for him He saw the train coming and ran down the track and tried to stop It but failing In this ran back to tho car and got his mother out the car Just be fore the train crashed into the rear of
