University of Iowa has replaced Paul W Brcchler the schools di rector of athletics as the highest paid sports department official at state institutions Ths was revealed Friday with the publication of the annual state salary book Published yearly as required by law it lists the sal aries of all state employes New Book Figures The new book shows that Eva shevskis salary in the fiscal year which ended last June 30 was 000 Brcchler was paid Evashcvski recently received a new 10year contract at the old rate Tied for third place were Em mett R Stiiber football coach at Iowa State College and Louis E director of athletics at Iowa State with each Their sal aries show each received a raise in the last fiscal year Closely Grouped The fifth sixth and seventh places were closely grouped Chal mers Bump Elliott assistant football coach at the university was paid Frank Bucky OConnor university basketball coach and Otto Vogel uni versity baseball coach OConnors and VogcJs salaries were paid
