Navy radar plane with 23 men aboard exploded and plunged into the sea Monday night At day break four survivors and the bod ies ot two men had been recov ered An intensive air and sea search was under way for more surviv ors in an area 25 miles north of the planes base on Oahu Island Cmdr Guy Howard 41 execu tive officer of the plane which was attached to an Early Warn ing Wing was quoted as saying an explosion occurred He also said he believed other crewmen were afloat in the area in life jackets Boats at Scene Conditions of the survivors de tails of the ditching and the rea son for it were not immediately available Two crash rescue craft from Kaneohe Marine Air the survivors and dead men from the waler While Navy Air Force and Coast Guard planes searched the blackness destroyers cutters and
